Your Marhaba Escape Safari representative will collect you from your hotel in Arusha and transfer you to the airport for your scheduled flight to the Serengeti.

As the aircraft approaches the Serengeti, the landscape begins to reveal the vastness that gives the park its name, often translated as “endless plains.” Covering approximately 14,750 square kilometres, the Serengeti is characterized by expansive grasslands, scattered woodlands, rocky kopjes, and seasonal rivers that support an extraordinary diversity of wildlife.

Upon arrival at the Serengeti airstrip, you will be met by your safari guide and transferred to your luxury accommodation. After lunch and some time to settle in, head out for your first afternoon game drive.

The Serengeti is home to enormous populations of wildebeest, zebra, and antelope and is the setting for the annual Great Migration. It also supports some of Africa’s most iconic predators, including lions, cheetahs, leopards, and hyenas. Throughout your game drive, you may also encounter elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, jackals, baboons, and a remarkable variety of birdlife.

Return to camp or lodge in the evening for dinner and overnight.

Wake up to the sounds of the Serengeti and enjoy a full day dedicated to wildlife exploration. Your safari schedule remains flexible, allowing you and your guide to decide how best to spend the day based on wildlife activity, weather, and your interests.

You may begin with an early morning game drive when wildlife is particularly active, return to the camp for breakfast or lunch and some relaxation, and head out again in the afternoon. Alternatively, choose a full-day game drive with a picnic lunch and spend most of the day exploring deeper into the Serengeti.

With more time in the park, there is greater opportunity to discover different habitats and encounter a wide range of wildlife. Your guide will help determine the best areas to explore while allowing enough time to enjoy the landscapes, photograph wildlife, and appreciate the quieter moments between sightings.

Return to your accommodation in the evening for dinner and overnight.

For your final morning in the Serengeti, we recommend an early start with a sunrise game drive. The cooler morning hours are often an excellent time for wildlife viewing, with many animals active before the heat of the day sets in.

As the first light spreads across the plains, you may encounter predators returning from a night’s hunt, herbivores beginning to graze, and the Serengeti awakening around you. It is also one of the most rewarding times for photography.

After the game drive, return to your accommodation for breakfast or a leisurely brunch before transferring to the airstrip for your flight.

Fly from the Serengeti back to Arusha, where your safari concludes, or continue onward to your next destination, such as Zanzibar or another part of Tanzania.

If you prefer a slower final morning, you can skip the early game drive and enjoy a relaxed breakfast and some quiet time at the camp before your flight.
