Your adventure begins with a hotel pick-up in Zanzibar, with the exact collection time depending on the location of your accommodation. You will be transferred to the airport for your scheduled flight to Arusha Airport.

Upon arrival in Arusha, your Marhaba Escape Safari representative will welcome you and provide a brief orientation before continuing with your safari arrangements. Enjoy lunch in Arusha before beginning the approximately 1.5-hour drive toward Tarangire National Park.

As you travel through northern Tanzania, your safari guide will introduce you to the changing landscapes, local communities, and traditions of the region. The journey provides your first glimpse of life beyond the major tourist centres and into the landscapes surrounding Tanzania’s famous national parks.

Arrive at your lodge near Tarangire in the late afternoon. Depending on the location of your accommodation, wildlife may occasionally be seen around the property, creating an immediate connection with the surrounding wilderness.

As evening approaches, settle into your accommodation, enjoy dinner, and relax to the natural sounds of the African bush.

After breakfast, depart for Tarangire National Park for a full day of wildlife exploration.

Tarangire is famous for its large elephant populations, enormous baobab trees, open savannah, woodland, seasonal wetlands, and the Tarangire River. During the dry season, wildlife gathers around the river and other remaining water sources, often creating excellent opportunities for game viewing.

Throughout the day, keep watch for elephants, lions, leopards, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, buffaloes, gazelles, and numerous bird species. Your private safari guide will help locate wildlife while explaining the behaviour, ecology, and landscapes you encounter.

Enjoy a picnic lunch at a suitable location within the park before continuing your afternoon game drive. As the light begins to soften across the savannah, leave Tarangire and continue toward your accommodation near the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.

Arrive at your lodge in the evening, where you can relax, enjoy dinner, and prepare for an early start the following morning.

Wake early for breakfast before departing at approximately 6:30 AM for the Ngorongoro Crater. The early start allows you to reach the crater during the cooler morning hours, when wildlife is often active and the first light creates spectacular conditions for photography.

Descend approximately 600 metres to the crater floor and begin your game drive through this extraordinary natural ecosystem. Surrounded by towering volcanic walls, the crater contains open grasslands, woodland, wetlands, and water sources that support a remarkable concentration of wildlife.

During your exploration, you may encounter lions, elephants, buffaloes, zebras, wildebeest, hyenas, hippos, flamingos, and other wildlife. The crater is also one of northern Tanzania’s best places to search for the endangered black rhinoceros.

Enjoy a picnic lunch during the day’s exploration before completing your final game drive and ascending from the crater.

In the afternoon, drive toward Arusha Airport for your scheduled flight back to Zanzibar. Upon arrival, your Zanzibar transfer driver will meet you and take you to your hotel.
