Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport or Arusha Airport, your Marhaba Escape Safari representative will meet you and transfer you to your accommodation in Arusha. Take the rest of the day to relax, recover from your journey, and prepare for the safari ahead.

Depending on your arrival time, there may also be an opportunity to explore parts of Arusha with your guide before returning to your accommodation for the evening.

After breakfast, your safari guide will collect you from your accommodation and begin the journey to Tarangire National Park. Carrying a packed lunch, you will enter the park for your first full game drive.

Tarangire is renowned for its large elephant populations, ancient baobab trees, and diverse landscapes of open savannah, woodland, seasonal wetlands, and the Tarangire River. During the dry season, the river becomes an especially important source of water, attracting large concentrations of wildlife.

As you explore the park, keep watch for elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, buffaloes, antelopes, and a variety of bird species. With luck, you may also encounter predators such as lions and leopards, sometimes spotted resting in the trees or moving through the grasslands.

After your game drive, continue to your accommodation for dinner and an overnight stay.

After breakfast, depart for Serengeti National Park, travelling through the changing landscapes of northern Tanzania toward one of Africa’s most famous wildlife destinations. Upon entering the Serengeti, begin your game drive with a packed lunch.

The Serengeti is famous for its vast plains and extraordinary concentrations of wildlife. It is also the principal stage of the annual Great Migration, when millions of wildebeest, accompanied by large numbers of zebra and other herbivores, move across the ecosystem in response to seasonal rainfall and fresh grazing.

Throughout the year, the Serengeti also supports abundant resident wildlife. Keep your camera ready for lions, cheetahs, leopards, elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, hyenas, and numerous other species. Continue your afternoon game drive before heading to your camp for dinner and overnight.

Today is dedicated entirely to exploring the Serengeti. After breakfast, set out with your safari guide for a full-day game drive, carrying a packed lunch so you can spend more time inside the park.

The open plains provide excellent opportunities for wildlife viewing and photography. Your guide will use their knowledge of the area, recent wildlife movements, and the day’s conditions to help locate animals and interpret the behaviour you encounter.

Depending on the season and location, you may witness large herds of wildebeest and zebra, prides of lions, cheetahs hunting across the plains, elephants moving through the grasslands, or leopards resting in trees. The Serengeti’s constantly changing wildlife encounters make each game drive different.

After the day’s exploration, return to camp for dinner and a well-earned night’s rest.

After breakfast, depart from the Serengeti and travel toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for a game drive with a packed lunch.

The Ngorongoro Crater is one of Tanzania’s most remarkable wildlife environments and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Formed by the collapse of a large volcanic caldera, its enclosed ecosystem supports an exceptional concentration of wildlife throughout the year.

Inside the crater, look for large herds of buffaloes and zebras, elephants, hippos, lions, hyenas, and other wildlife. The crater is also one of the places where you may have an opportunity to see the endangered black rhinoceros.

Enjoy your game drive and picnic lunch surrounded by the dramatic crater landscape before continuing to your accommodation in the Karatu area for dinner and overnight.

After breakfast, depart from Karatu for Lake Manyara National Park. Carrying a packed lunch, enter the park for a game drive through its varied landscapes of groundwater forest, open woodland, grassland, and the shores of the alkaline lake.

Lake Manyara is particularly known for its large troops of baboons and its famous tree-climbing lions. The park is also home to elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, buffaloes, hippos, gazelles, and numerous bird species. Depending on the season and water levels, the lake can attract large numbers of waterbirds, including flamingos.

After your game drive, begin the journey back toward Arusha. Arrive at your accommodation for dinner, relaxation, and your final overnight stay.

After breakfast, enjoy some time to relax at your accommodation before your departure transfer. Your Marhaba Escape Safari driver will collect you and transfer you to Arusha Airport or Kilimanjaro International Airport, depending on your onward travel arrangements.

If your flight schedule allows, you can spend some additional time exploring Arusha or shopping for souvenirs before continuing to the airport.

Your 7-day Tanzania safari ends with your departure from northern Tanzania, taking with you memories of the Serengeti plains, Tarangire’s elephants, the Ngorongoro Crater, and Lake Manyara’s diverse wildlife.
